Wanderlust movies are a journey themselves. There is nothing quite as exciting as losing yourself in the emotions a travel movie evokes inside. Better yet, it gets you craving to kickstart your own journey to find your inner self through wanderlust.

Into The Wild (2007)

IMDb Rating: 8.1/10

Genre: Adventure, Biography, Drama

Into the Wild is a movie that has made it to every travel movie list you can find on the internet. One of the most inspirational and emotional wanderlust movies based on a true story. It is about a boy named Christopher McCandless who gives away his possessions and savings after his graduation and sets out to live in the Alaskan wilderness. A journey that changes his life.

Lost in Translation (2003)

IMDb Rating: 7.7/10

Genre: Comedy, Drama

Lost in Translation is about two lost souls who cross paths in Tokyo. Bob is a faded movie star and Charlotte is a neglected woman trying to find herself. The cultural barrier a traveler has to face in a foreign country is addressed in the most humorous manner in this wanderlust movie. It is full of laughter and the bond of friendship forged between Bob and Charlotte. And the main role in this charming classic is actually quircky Japan!

The Bucket List (2007)

IMDb Rating: 7.4/10

Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Drama

We all have a bucket list. But have we crossed any of the goals off the list?

The Bucket list is a movie that shows how two terminally ill men escape from a cancer ward to live the last few days of their life to the fullest. Their bucket list jolts them back to life and off they go on a healing, joyous, and exciting road trip. Among feel-good wanderlust movies, it compels you to refresh your adventure wish list.

We would love it even more if you would see more of this planet with your own eyes. Book your flight and hotel here and check off that bucket list!

Tracks (2013)

IMDb Rating: 7.2/10

Genre: Adventure, Biography, Drama

Tracks is a biography of a woman named Robyn Davidson, whose goal is to reach the ocean across the Australian desert. She sets out on a journey with four camels and a dog to discover herself. An intense, emotional, and moving wanderlust movie.

For me, it turned out to be a tearjerker as we see Robyn go through myriads of emotions, loneliness, and how she faces her fears to reach her destination. One of the most emotional wanderlust movies you will find out there.

Eat Pray Love (2010)

IMDb Rating: 5.8/10

Genre: Comedy, Drama

Eat Pray Love is one of the best wanderlust movies, especially for women who are going through a tough time. It is sure to bring strength to their souls and smiles on their faces. This wanderlust movie is about a woman on a quest to find herself. During her travel through Italy, she learns how food brings joy, power of prayers from India and falls in love with herself in Bali.

The Motorcycle Diaries (2004)

IMDb Rating: 7.8/10

Genre: Adventure, Biography, Drama

The Motorcycle Diaries is a memoir based on the journals of Ernesto Che Guevara. I would call it one of the true wanderlust movies because in 1952 Guevara and his friend Alberto set out to explore their Continent that they had only read about in books. They ride across South America and over 14,000 kilometers, the reason why I think it to be a true wanderlust movie.

Wild (2014)

IMDb Rating: 7.1/10

Genre: Adventure, Biography, Drama

What I think about personal tragedy is that it changes a person. The change is so profound that you are barely able to resonate with your old self. Everyone deals with it in their own way. Wild is the true story of a woman, Cheryl Strayed, who decides to deal with a personal tragedy by going on a 1,100 miles solo hike. One of those wanderlust movies where the character finds their true self while exploring the world. Beautiful, isn’t it?
