We get all sorts of invites in our mail, but we hardly accept it. This is because most hotspots don't really have anything that special to offer. But Bar Rouge Amsterdam got our attention!
We were invited to enjoy a great night in the very unique Bar Rouge Amsterdam. What a cool establishment this is!

At my place, you start with a table full of Asian favourites and good company to end the night dancing with a cocktail in your hand.” – Bar Rouge.
Unique in his kind
Almost every bar/restaurant/club/diner is clear about what they are. With Bar Rouge, everything is different, it's the perfect mix of the elements of these earlier named establishments. It all starts with the sexy decor and interior. It's a dark, small, and rectangular space with primarily red light. On the walls, you will find cool neon letters with clever vulgar sayings. It feels like you have entered some semi-erotic French nightclub and you have that exciting feeling in your stomach something special is going to happen. And it will!
In Bar Rouge, you will do more than just drink a cocktail before going out on the town. This is where you wine and dine in style, this where you drink in style and where you meet the night in style.
This unique setting is completed by the sexy R&B-tunes from the DJ. He plays the best classics from the 90's, 00's and 10's. You will be bopping your head all night long. Because of the music and the setting, you will want to vibe here all night long * cue Lionel Ritchie *.
And that's why Bar Rouge is the perfect spot to celebrate life with your best friends. Or seriously impress your new date with a special night out.

Cha Cha Real Smooth
The friendly waitresses gave us two cool looking menu's. The first was filled with great Asian cuisine and the other filled with yummy cocktails. We choose the delicious oysters, chugged away some dim sum, enjoyed a couple of cocktails (like the Skinny Vodka Latte and the Twinkle Little P**nstar), and then choose the main course; the double platter called Cha Cha Real Smooth. These platters consisted out of a platter full of sushi and the other filled with all sorts of meats, sweet potatoes, and truffle mayonnaise, rice, and duckburgers. Yes, you read that right, duckburgers!
We devoured these sushi rolls and small treats with incredible passion. Even when we were absolutely stuffed, we still magically found some room for dessert. We choose the delicious Moshi ice balls!
With our bellies full and not seeing straight anymore, we relaxed a bit and watched a live show with a lovely singer who reminded us of a prime Whitney Houston. What a great night!
The Good Life Bar
It was especially interesting to see the Amsterdam jetset (20-35yrs) having a great time and celebrating life (read: ordering champagne, devouring sushi, flirts with one another). The name for this bar could have also been The Good Life!
It was pretty hard shooting good pictures with this crazy moving red light, but we have made some nice ones!

Sultry summer nights
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening in this unique establishment. We recommend you to wine and dine here with your best friends, or take your hot date to impress her or him. And don't forget to drink a cocktail too much! 😉
After a couple of cocktails too much, you can go out for a romantic walk down the beautiful canal houses of Amsterdam…
The capital of the Netherlands, and especially the neighborhood of the Jordaan, is in summer one of the greatest spots in the world. But it's also a great spot in the late evening hours. It's always ‘gezellig' (a Dutch word for cozy/fun), atmospheric and typical Dutch. This last description is something you will understand when walking down this lovely city when the summer nights are sultry (and sexy!).
