Let's read about everything that Servas is and how it can benefit your travels.
Rarely do we come across a group that travels for peace. Servas is a community of people who aim to promote peace and understanding through travel and hosting. Servas International has consultative status with the Social and Economic Council of the United Nations.
People of this group travel to other countries and connect. There are host profiles that allow you to host any member of Servas. This encourages the connectivity of different groups, as we have never seen before. Servas has influenced over 15000 homes in 100 countries.
There are two categories to be a part of this incredible community. You can either be a traveler, or you can be a host. If you wish to be a traveler, you will get a Letter of Introduction, which will act as your Servas passport. To acquire that, you need first to have the ‘traveler' role assigned by your local administrator. After that, you complete your profile to become eligible to be hosted.
But if you want to become a host, you have to keep your information up to date, especially your phone number and email address. And you must not forget to reply to any message from a traveler. Needless to say, you have a right to decline a request as well.
Do you often work in cafes and airports? Be sure to have a secure connection. We recommend NordVPN!
This organization also holds several fun activities. They recently conducted a Servas Youth Language Program. They create contests like writing and handled a Servas Peace School. Such institutions spread awareness about human rights, inclusivity, peace, and social justice. Recently, they also perform enjoyable activities like cycling from Hamburg to Copenhagen.
This is the realization of a harmonious future. And Servas is such a great step towards it!
