Summer in New York City is known for its warm and sweltering city temperatures of over 86ºF/30ºC. In this concrete jungle, the heat often lingers at night. July and August are the hottest months and the mercury can even rise above 104ºF/40ºC.
When the heat in Manhattan gets too hot, you can head to the beach in Coney Island to cool off and relax. Or look for the coolness of the air conditioning in shopping centers and museums.
