With all the travel restrictions due to Covid-19, it’s been a while since anyone took one of those therapeutic drives on the road. We, being the travel addicts that we are, find it almost insufferable to not be able to do that. Surely you must be feeling the same by now.
Luckily, Drive and Listen has a solution! And this web app is trending worldwide right now!
Drive and Listen Web App
Created by a grad student in Munich, the Drive and Listen web app takes you on virtual drives through many cities of the world. Be it driving around in the metropolitan city of New York, going through the capital of China gazing at the architectural marvels, or making it across destinations in the busy city of Delhi, you got it! With 50+ (and counting) cities, you can bring any of your favorite road-trip locations to your screen.
How does it work?
Drive and Listen is a wonderful way to alleviate the road trip-deprivation that we’ve all been feeling during the quarantine or lockdowns. With footage from many contributors across the globe, Erkam’s web app takes you on virtual drives along with local radio stations playing quality hits to make it as realistic as possible. You can also control the speed of your car, toggle street noise, and teleport to another city in the blink of an eye (or click/tap, if you’re keen on being precise).
How does it feel?
It’s very relaxing. The virtual drives get you as close to actual drives as you can under the current circumstances. And you can teleport! Something you cannot do with actual driving… yet. (Elon, please invent a teleporting Tesla!)
All the virtual drives we took were just as relaxing as actual road trips. Feedback from fellow quarantines also corroborates to effectiveness of it. Here’s a couple of reviews.
