Kawaii Monster Café in Tokyo, Japan: where cute meets crazy on LSD!

Japan is full of traditions and culture, but Japan also has a completely different side with many crazy and colorful things that are in stark contrast to its very modest culture. Particularly in the district of Harajuku in Tokyo, there's a very awesome Kawaii (meaning cute, nerdy, and colorful) culture.

Here you will find the most unique and colorful cafes in the streets with Instaworthy food and drinks in Tokyo, Japan. And you also can spot many people in cool manga-like outfits. But the Kawaii Monster Cafe is the absolute pinnacle! Concealed on the 4th floor of a high building, escalators take you unsuspectingly into this alien cafe.

Harajuku is a colorful and crazy town that has been creating its own original culture by engulfing the world’s trendiest fashions and cultures. 【Day time 】It is like a monster that swallows everything in its path and keeps expanding. Our restaurant is a reflection of this monster visualizing TOKYO, HARAJUKU. 【Night time 】By proposing a “new way to play at night” in Harajuku, reminiscent of Broadway or a show restaurant in New York, our aim is to create a new culture in Tokyo.”

The entertainment

At first, it is a bit overwhelming because of the overload of neon colors, disco lights, wild music, and crazy outfits. It seems a psychedelic nightmare, but the details in the decor and furnishing are amazing, it's all sóóó cute and colorful! Even in the toilets, the crazy colorful theme is continued. There's a DJ and at different times there is a performance. The performance is by far the highlight of your visit. With these eccentric manga girls taking positions on the Sweets-Go-Round (a huge spinning cupcake), it makes up for a crazy but awesome show!

In the end, they invited the public to dance on the Sweets-Go-Round – and I did – and it was amazing! The whole experience was quite intense but awesome. This café can't be missed on your visit to Tokyo, Japan. You will feel like a kid again. It is without a doubt a very unique outer-space-experience!
