When in Tel Aviv, Israel, you have to try these 3 delicious pita breads!

Bread lovers… Fasten your seatbelt! It's pita-time!

Tel Aviv, Israel is known for its delicious dishes with very well baked pita bread. The city is covered with places to get your order, but we have highlighted the 3 best pita shops/restaurants in Tel Aviv. So on your next trip to Tel Aviv make sure you have scheduled your pit(a) stop! (pun intended 😉 )

#3 Miznon
Miznon is a very hip and pretty busy local restaurant, with American 90's rap at a loud (!) volume where the staff sing and dance loudly along with the beats. It seems here that job satisfaction is off the charts!

If you don't know this restaurant, you would probably just walk past it because it looks a little run down on the outside. But the atmosphere and food make it special enough, so you can't skip this place! Just like everywhere in Tel Aviv, there are also many special vegetarian options and the bread is super fresh!

We had a White Pita (cauliflower) and Cabburger with one beer, that costs us 90 shekels/25,70 US dollars.

Restaurant location:
Miznon: 23 Ibn Gabirol Street, Tel Aviv, Israel

#2 Panda Pita
Panda Pita is known as the #1 of all Peruvian restaurants on TripAdvisor. Compared to the other restaurants on this list, you can only get a pita to go. They are located in a side street of the atmospheric Carmel Market, so you'll have to find this little gem first.

The staff is super cheerful and they work with great music in the background. We both had the unique looking Eggplant Fillet Pita. This pita had very unusual ingredients such as beetroot chutney and caramelized eggplant. The bun was steamed, making it the tastiest bun I've ever had (bread lovers heaven)! Everything was just really super fresh and made quickly while waiting in line.

For two eggplant pita's and a beer, we paid 69 shekel/19,70 US dollars.

Restaurant location:
Panda Pita: Malan St 47, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel

#1 Boca Boca
Boca Boca is the number one restaurant in Tel Aviv according to TripAdvisor, and we agree!

You can imagine that we were very curious to try this restaurant. Boca Boca sits in the middle of the Carmel Market (it's a little hard to find, it seems a little hidden behind the fruit stands). It's the ideal place to relax and people-watch in the vibrancy of the Carmel Market.

The staff is very friendly and while waiting for our pitas we were treated to a small glass of Limoncello. Here, too, the bread was super fresh, but this time it was focaccia that was lightly toasted (delicious!). Due to the thickness of the bread, it almost looked like Turkish bread. It was very delicious and rich in flavor. And the falafel I had was not made from chickpeas, but eggplant. Best falafel ever!

It was truly the softest, freshest, and tastiest falafel I've ever had! Sometimes I still dream of it! Truly the number 1 pita in Tel Aviv!

We had a Focaccia Roast Beef, a Focaccia Italian falafel, and with a beer, it was a total of 87 shekels/24.90 US dollars.

Boca Boca: HaCarmel St 40, Tel Aviv-Yafo Israel
