We paid an average of 8 dollars / 6 euros per massage in Canggu! So we went quite often (9 times in one month). These are the 4 best places to get a good massage in Canggu. Your body will thank me later! 😉
Stop with what you´re doing right now, and go book a massage with the GrandMaster.
Idas is a little old Indonesian lady, she owns the place and probably has done more than 10.000 massages in her lifetime. You can just feel the experience in her every move. This is how a massage is supposed to be!
She doesn´t follow some routine, no, she studies your body. Her tiny but very strong hands are like a microscope. She really feels where your knots and pains are. And then she goes to work. With delicacy and mastery, she works your body into a better mold. You will really notice the difference even more after a couple of sessions. She´s a bit more expensive than the regular massages, an hour is about 12 dollars instead of about 8, but it´s so worth every cent! Idas get´s so much more done than these youngsters who just follow a routine.
Idas Bodyworks also employs some very strong and able young men who will absolutely torture you. And by torture I mean: this is the strongest massage you´ll ever have, and you will love it. Good pain! 😉
Insider tip: Idas, the Grandmaster, also works in Ubud a couple of moments in the week. Book her in advance so that you´re that you have her as your masseuse.

Simple, but effective. These roadside massage parlors might not look like much, but these ladies do excellent work on your body. Be sure to ask for the strong Balise massages. They cost a buck more, but they really get to work on your body. My preference was the four-hand Balinese Strong Massage. Double the price, but double the relaxation!
A four-hand Balinese strong massage, for 11 dollars / 9 euros. Wait, whut?! I´m not exaggerating here, it really was just 140k IDR for a full-hour massage from two hard-working sweethearts. The place looks very simple, but the massage was excellent and very affordable!
This is more a Spa than just a simple massage parlor. This luxury facility is a full-blown spa, including an area with a sauna, ice-cold baths, steam rooms, and a jacuzzi. A full day of relaxing (and recovering) here costs about 15 dollars, massages excluded. We quite like the sauna area and will be returning soon.
But wait…
… before you go, forget the last three recommendations of the best massage places in Canggu, because I´m dead serious about my first one; go to Idas!
