Mexico's high season runs from late-November to April. In these months (the dry season) you have the best chance of excellent weather and also less rain. This makes it a popular time to visit Mexico, meaning it will push prices up and it will be a bit busier everywhere you look.
This bucket-list location is waiting for you. But first, you´ll need a ticket up in the air!
From May to August the rain starts to increase a bit more, but you still have many sunny days. The rain showers are generally short, but heavy. The streets will be flooded for a short amount of time. The temperature is still very enjoyable, but it cools down a bit more at night. Some regions, like Mexico City, will have more rainfall due to their (high) location.
April, May, and June are very suitable months to visit Mexico. There will be fewer tourists, the hotel prices are lower, and the weather is usually pretty warm and sunny.
The rainy season is from May to October, but the months with the most rain are September and October. In addition, June and July are also rainy months, but because Mexico is often visited by international travelers due to summer holidays, it is not a low season.
Besides, there is also a risk of hurricanes on the east coast, the Yucatan area, in September and October to mid-November. We recommend avoiding these months.
The best time to visit Mexico is from November to April, in the dry season. But even outside this period, you can easily make a road trip through Mexico. And if you visit Mexico outside of school holidays, it will also be less crowded and prices will be more affordable. Although we really do not recommend traveling during September and October due to the hurricane season in the tropical Yucatan area.
