If you ever have the opportunity to visit The Netherlands, don't just only go to Amsterdam. This small country has so much more to offer!
There are so many magical hotspots that are only 30-60-90 minutes away from the capital. The public transport is excellent (trains and busses everywhere) and you'll be there in a jiffy. Amazing locations like the Zaanse Schans (windmills+epic view), Volendam (cute old town), Rotterdam (a Dutch New York City) and the Dutch coast (like Noordwijk or Scheveningen) should on your to-go list when in Holland.

Tips when visiting
When you are visiting the Zaanse Schans, be sure to take many pictures of the authentic windmills and the old and very atmospheric little houses. If there is a food stand or some stores or supermarkets, try out Dutch cheese, drop, stroopwafel, and fresh haring with onions. You will be very surprised by these amazing tastes. I guess you will be shocked how good the cheese and stroopwafel will taste, but be horrified at first by the taste of drop and the haring. But after a good bite or two, you'll notice it's not that bad. It's even pretty good!
Holland/The Netherlands has a lot to offer and we advise you to at least be in this little country for a week. Two weeks would even be better!
